Aerial unit

The skies are our playground.

A dedicated aerial team with over 25 years of combined experience in the industry. Constantly learning, constantly improving — and passionate enough about it to build our own indoor drones.

Pedigree

Our lead pilot has flown for features you’ve seen.

21 years flying RC aircraft, starting in drone filming when the industry was still in its infancy — and Aerial DP roles in recent years, planning and consulting on shots rather than just flying them.

Fast & Furious Maleficent Downton Abbey The Misfits Rashash Khiladi (2022)

Feature and series credits, shot in the UK and in Dubai.

Permits

Flying legally in the UAE takes three weeks. Start early.

We handle the whole submission process, but the timeline is set by the authorities, not by us. Here is what has to happen before an aircraft leaves the ground — worth knowing before you lock a shoot date.

1Lead time

Minimum three weeks

Every permit chain needs at least three weeks. A shoot booked inside that window is a shoot without aerial, so we raise it in the first conversation.

2Authorities

Several bodies, per emirate

Civil aviation, the Ministry of Defence, local media offices and drone tracking all sign off separately, and the mix changes by emirate.

3On the day

An MOD observer attends

A Ministry of Defence observer is on set for six hours. Filming beyond that means a second permit block — so we schedule aerial into a tight window rather than spreading it across the day.

4Final call

The pilot decides

The drone operator has the final decision on all flying matters, including deciding not to fly a shot they judge unsafe. That call is never overruled.

We hold permits across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. Permit fees are charged at cost and quoted per project, since they vary by emirate and location.

Ground filming

Aerial that matches the rest of the film.

Alongside the aerial work we shoot ground as well, and we match the two so they cut together properly — one production house rather than a drone invoice and a separate crew who never spoke to each other. Cinematic productions, corporate content, event coverage, action FPV: all built on the same foundation.
